Turhan Y. Erdoğan

Turhan Y. Erdoğan was born in 1938 in Tarsus, Mersin. He graduated from Tarsus American College in 1957. He completed his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University in 1962 and his master's degree in the same department in 1963. He completed his experimental studies at the University of California-Berkeley, where he went with a UNESCO scholarship, and his doctorate at METU in 1970, and continued his career as an academician at METU. Turhan Y. Erdoğan received the title of assistant professor in 1971, associate professor in 1975 and professor in 1981. He served as Head of the Civil Engineering Department between 1981 and 1988. Although he retired in 2005, he continued to teach part-time at METU until 2019. Prof. Dr. Turhan Y. Erdoğan has published many books in Turkish and English, especially Concrete, Materials Science, Materials of Construction, Ten Thousand Years of History of Binding Materials and Concrete.
