Management in developing countries: Taking a closer look

1997
Khan, Jamal
This paper represents an effort at examining the basic tenor of organization and management in developing countries and an attempt at providing some outlines of approaches appropriate for the environments found specifically in less industrialized regions. The study also attempt to identify some of the limitations of North Atlantic management theories, techniques and practiccs for managing organizations and resources in the developing countries. This is not done in a spirit of cynicism or despair. Instead, it is an expression of concern and commitment in the belief that it is possible to improve organization management in developing nations provided we diagnose the real problems and fundamental issues, face them squarely and collectively and deal with constraints creatively and cumulatively.
