This thesis investigates “the Mir way” in architectural visualization. The study begins with a comprehensive literature review on Romantic Landscape painting and architectural phenomenology to establish a theoretical foundation for an aesthetic analysis. It is an in-depth investigation and aesthetic critique of Mir’s works, a distinguished visualization studio based in Bergen. Mir is known for their collaborations with renowned architectural firms such as Jensen & Skodvin, Snøhetta, BIG, and Zaha Hadid. By examining MIR's architectural visualizations through the lenses of romanticism and phenomenology, this study uncovers valuable insights into how these representations intentionally adopt these approaches. This research delves into the connections of theory and practice, to contribute to the advancement of discourse and criticism in architectural visualization.
