Radial excitations of the decuplet baryons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Sundu Pamuk, Hayriye (2017-04-10)
The ground and first excited states of the decuplet baryons are studied using the two-point QCD sum rule approach. The mass and residue of these states are computed and compared with the existing experimental data and other theoretical predictions. The results for the masses of the ground state particles as well as the excited Delta and Sigma* states are in good consistency with experimental data. Our results on the excited Xi* and Omega(-) states reveal that the experimentally poorly known Xi(1950) and Ome...
Terahertz study of 1,3,5-trinitro-s-triazine by time-domain and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy
Huang, F; Schulkin, B; Altan, Hakan; Federici, JF; Gary, D; Barat, R; Zimdars, D; Chen, M; Tanner, DB (2004-12-06)
This letter describes the use of THz time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) applied in transmission to the secondary explosive 1,3,5 trinitro-s-triazine. Samples were also subjected to Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy over the same range for comparison. A detailed spectroscopy study is presented. General agreement between results from both methods confirms the absorption features found. A comparison study with computer molecular simulations shows that THz-TDS is sensitive to collective modes or vibrational m...
Radial vibrations in a 5 M⊙ double-shell burning hydrogen-helium star
Kırbıyık, Hayrettin (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1990-6)
A model of 5M ⊙ hydrogen-helium star with no metals has been considered. The properties of the adiabatic oscillations were obtained, and the vibrational instability of the model has been investigated. The model is a double-shell burning star. Calculations were done for the fundamental mode as well as the first and the second harmonics. The model has been found vibrationally unstable against radial adiabatic pulsations.
Phase Resolved X-Ray Spectral Analysis of Intermediate Polars EX Hya and FO Aqr
Pekon, Yakup; Balman, Şölen (EDP Sciences; 2013-06-28)
Intermediate Polars (IPs): EX Hya and FO Aqr whichs are a subclass of Cataclysmic Variables (CVs) where a white dwarf with magnetic field strength of about 1-10 MG accretes material from a main sequence companion through a truncated disc. In this talk we present orbital and spin phase-resolved X-ray spectroscopy of EX Hya and orbital phase-resolved X-ray spectroscopy of FO Aqr. We utilize XMM-Newton archive data of these objects for analysis. We investigate the change of the source spectrum over the spin an...
Spectroscopic measurements of electron temperature and electron density in electron beam plasma generator based on collisional radiative model
Goktas, H.; Demir, A.; Kacar, E.; Hegazy, H.; Turan, Raşit; Oke, G.; Seyhan, A. (Informa UK Limited, 2007-01-01)
The current work describes a spectroscopic method for determining the electron temperature and electron density in an electron beam generator using argon spectral lines based on a collisional radiative model. Neutral and first-ionized Ar lines emitted from the electron beam generator are studied experimentally. A collisional radiative code was developed to simulate the Ar (I) and Ar (II) spectral emission and to compare the results with the experimental data for electron density and temperature determinatio...
