Erhan Köksal

He was born in Erzurum in 1934. After graduating from Ankara Atatürk High School, he continued his education at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences between 1953-1957. After graduating from the Financial Branch of this Faculty, he did academic studies at the London School of Economics with a one-year scholarship between 1958-1959. Following his return to the country, he completed the “Organization and Method” course organized by the Public Administration Institute of Turkey and the Middle East (TODAIE) between January-April 1960 and started working at this institution the same year. During his five-year stay at TODAIE, Mr. Köksal also completed his doctorate in economics at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences. Erhan Köksal started working as a faculty member at METU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 1965, the year he received his doctorate. Earning the title of associate professor in 1981 with his thesis titled “Implementation of Democratic Regimes in Underdeveloped Countries”, Köksal served as a faculty member and department head in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration until his retirement in 1997.
