Şaziye Gazioğlu

Şaziye Gazioğlu was born in 1949 in Nicosia. She completed her undergraduate education at METU, Department of Mathematics in 1971. She received her MA in Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London in 1976 and her PhD in 1982. Between 1977 and 2004, she worked in various academic positions at various universities in the United Kingdom, including Tottenham Technical College, Birkbeck College and the University of Aberdeen. She returned to Turkey in 2004 and was a visiting researcher at METU and Bilkent University. Between 2005 and 2013, she served as a Professor at METU, Department of Economics. Şaziye Gazioğlu has published articles in numerous scientific journals and congresses. Her main research interests are in the field of macroeconomics, and her scientific publications have covered a wide range from financial economics to labor economics. Şaziye Gazioğlu's personal and professional interests are focused on international migration, and her work on this subject has gained an important place in the relevant literature.
