This paper is a survey of the optimal taxation to the study of aggregate monetary and fiscal policy. In particular, the optimal financing of government's budget with either money creation, inflation tax revenue, and/or ordinary taxes has been studied in various literature. My goal is limited to present some important studies with sufficient clarity to reveal their main content and their relationship with other parts of economic literature.
