Optimal Incomplete Block Designs For Comparing Treatments With A Control

Türe, T. Erkan
In this paper, the problem of determining optimal incomplete block designs for comparing several treatments with a control is studied. The main purpose is to design optimal experiments to estimate the control-treatment contrasts. The optimality criteria are defined and the BTIB designs proposed by Bechhofer and Tamhane are examined for A-optimality. The determination of A-optimal or nearly A-optimal BTIB designs is explained and some information about the construction of such designs has been provided.
