A Model For Measuring The Effects Of Covariates On The Risk Of Failure : The Cox Regression Model

1982
Yeşilçay, Yaşar
Statistical analysis of "failure" time data has been the subject of many studies, grouped under the name of hazard function analysis. The emphasis in recent years has been on the factors (or covariates) that affect the hazard. Such studies are mainly based on Cox's original papers that appeared in 1972 and the discussions on that paper as well as his later contribution on the estimation procedure. This paper is a state of the art report on the above studies, known as the Proportional Hazard Function or Cox Regression Model. Extensions of the original model, improvements on the estimation process as well as studies on the statistical properties of the estimators are reviewed. Some indication of the extent of application areas are also given.
