Both of these theorists argue that the main categories and propositions of neoclassical analysis are incapable of explaining noncapitalist economic phenomenon. In addition to presenting the content of their criticisms, this paper shall attempt to elaborate their contributions to institutional economic theory embedded in their efforts to formulate alternative theories to understand diverse forms of economic activity.
