This study examines the relationship between disaster awareness and psychological preparedness for disaster threats and provides implications about effective disaster education for undergraduate students. 412 undergraduate students selected from different regions and universities of Türkiye participated in the research. This study employs a correlational research design to examine the relationship between disaster awareness and psychological preparedness for disaster threats. Data are collected using ―The Disaster Awareness Scale‖ developed by Dikmenli et al. (2018) and ―The Turkish Version of the Psychological Preparedness for Disaster Threat Scale (PPDTS-T21) by Türkdoğan Görgün et al. (2023). Correlation analyses were performed to measure the direction and strength of the relationship between these variables. Findings suggest that enhancing disaster awareness among undergraduate students can improve their psychological preparedness for emergencies. This study makes a unique contribution to the literature by focusing on the relationship between disaster awareness and psychological preparedness and emphasizing that disaster education is necessary for all undergraduate departments based on the relationship found.
