The purpose of this thesis is to analyze whether there was a need of developing adaptation strategies by middle-class working parents in Türkiye due to outcomes generated by the Covid-19 pandemic. To be able to conduct the analysis, qualitative research method was deployed, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with twenty middle-class working parents, ten women and ten men. Owing to focusing on the adaptation strategies and the family resilience, concepts generated by Family System Theory, Family Ecology Theory and Family Resilience Model were benefited from. Eight themes were employed which mainly used in work family conflict literature to be able to present a comprehensive analysis. It was realized that Covid-19 pandemic caused middle-class working parents to develop adaptation strategies towards the circumstances of the pandemic and childcare was found to be the most influential theme for this need. Due to the educational level and socio- economic status of the research group, parents were able to satisfy this need even without social policy implementations applied by the government and a clear gender difference was not captured. Additionally, it was revealed that today, families exist in a new reality, “post-new normal”, where they combine the patterns prior to and during the pandemic. Due to the resilience that this group can develop with their own resources, it is realized that they can overcome crises through general support, and that social policies should be developed to address other groups that do not have the resources to be resilient in the face of crises.
