Individuals and societies have migrated throughout history for reasons such as wars, conflicts, economic crises, and environmental crises, and in some cases these migrations have been experienced as mass influxes. In this context, unaccompanied and separated children are among the most vulnerable groups in migration processes and face various risks such as neglect, abuse and trafficking. International regulations on the protection of children and the Turkish legal framework demonstrate the need to strengthen protection mechanisms by considering the best interests of children. This thesis examines the critical role and contribution of civil society organizations (CSOs) in the protection and care of unaccompanied and separated children in Türkiye. It analyses their compliance with legal regulations, their cooperation with state institutions and other international actors, as well as the support services they provide. The findings show that CSOs assist unaccompanied and separated children, particularly in protection procedures and the provision of supportive services. However, gaps in legal regulations, coordination and communication problems, and ongoing problems in adapting to crises are still prominent. In this context, the study aims to present the ways in which CSOs are involved in protection and care regulations regarding unaccompanied and separated children, the problems they face and suggestions to address these problems.
