The ideological significance of sports and physical training for the government of Turkey will be interpreted, with a focus on factors such as biopolitics, physical culture, nation-building, and nationalism. The influence and control of the regime over TICI will be explored, emphasizing the political developments in the interwar period. Additionally, the background of modern sports in Turkey will be analyzed, considering the continuity between the early years of the Republic and the Ottoman Empire.
