Characterization of p-In2Se3 thin films
QASRAWİ, ATEF; Parlak, Mehmet; Ercelebi, C; Günal, İbrahim (2001-01-01)
Indium selenide thin films were deposited onto glass substrates kept at 150 degreesC by thermal evaporation of alpha -In2Se3. Some of the films were annealed at 150 degreesC and 200 degreesC and they all were found to exhibit p-type conductivity without intentional doping. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) established that the films have an atomic content of In51Se49. X-ray diffraction (XRD) indicated that the as-grown films were amorphous in nature and became polycrystalline \beta-In2Se3 films after annea...
Formulation of a beam finite element for micro beams
Pehlivanoğlu, Yücel; Kadıoğlu, Fevzi Suat; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2018)
This study presents an Euler Bernoulli type micro-beam finite element for analyzing the size-dependent static and dynamic behavior of micro beams. The new element is based on Modified Couple Stress Theory (MCST). The governing equations of motion and the boundary conditions for the beam are derived and the conventional Galerkin technique is employed to formulate the finite element. The new element can be reduced to Classical Euler-Bernoulli beam element if the size-effect parameter in the element matrices i...

Approximation of transformation media-based reshaping action by genetic optimization
Ozgun, Ozlem; Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa (2014-11-01)
The reshaping technique that is based on transformation optics renders an object to be perceived as if it has a different shape irrespective of the location of the observer. This is achieved by coating the object with an anisotropic and spatially varying metamaterial layer by employing the concept of coordinate transformation. This paper presents a design approach for numerical approximation of reshaper medium by means of concentric layers coated over the object, each of which has simpler and easily realiza...
Simulator of an additive and subtractive type of hybrid manufacturing system
Dilberoğlu, Mecid Uğur; Yaman, Ulaş; Dölen, Melik (2019-06-24)
Additive Manufacturing (AM) facilitates the production of intricate objects despite its weakness in attainable part quality and fabrication speed compared to the conventional manufacturing methods. To alleviate the problems arising as a natural outcome of AM methods, hybrid technologies become viable options by employing concurrent manufacturing procedures, e.g. synergetic additive and subtractive manufacturing (SM) actions. Hybrid workstations have recently opened up new dimensions to 3D-printing industry,...
