Preparatory class students in the 60s

When we arrived at the Preparatory School, the first thing we were reminded of was the "Meeting Tea".... It was the passion to create an environment that would introduce and integrate future METU students who came from all over Anatolia and did not know each other.... For this purpose, the Grand Cafeteria Building, which had the largest volume at the time, was the most suitable place.... Dining tables were brought together and covered with pure white cloths... Flowers were placed around and a friendly atmosphere was provided... An orchestra was placed in a place that overlooked the hall, and tables were prepared in a suitable place for serving soft drinks... There was also a sound system and music system... The rest was left to the students who came there... Students, those living in Ankara, could bring their siblings or friends and sit wherever they wanted, waiting for the music to start... In the meantime, soft drinks and tea were served. Then the conversations and chats would begin. Let's take another look at the pictures and memories from that day, years later (Hüseyin Kabahasoğlu Notes)
