This study investigates “architecture and its image” through the theoretical and practical framework provided by the graduate course ARCH524 Architecture and Different Modes of Representation at the METU Faculty of Architecture. Given the insufficiency of current archival practices and the absence of an architecture museum in Türkiye, the study aims to contribute to the documentation of architectural knowledge by archiving one of the Faculty’s courses, ARCH524, in terms of content, objectives, and outcomes. In this context, the recurring theme “Architecture Is Art,” adopted in the last three semesters, occupies a central place in the thesis as it presents potential for representing and exhibiting architecture. While direct comparison between architectural drawings and paintings or models and sculptures is not possible, the statement creates a platform where aesthetic and spatial parallels can be explored. This ambiguous zone was tested by ARCH524 students, who sought novel answers to the question of “How to represent architecture?”. Within this scope, three exhibitions organized at CerModern with the aim of representing METU further reflected this ambiguity, demonstrating how exhibitions themselves can emerge as one of the “modes of representation”.
