Software process improvement in a software development environment
Konuralp, Zeynep; Bilgen, Semih; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2007)
A software process improvement study is presented. The literature on software development processes and their improvement is reviewed. The current peer review process at Software Engineering Directorate of the X Company, Ankara, Türkiye (XCOM) is studied and the static software development metrics based on a recent proposal have been evaluated. The static software metrics based improvement suggestions and the author’s improvement suggestions discussed with the senior staff are compared. An improved peer rev...
Software Functional Size: For Cost Estimation and More
Ozkan, Baris; Turetken, Oktay; Demirörs, Onur (2008-09-05)
Determining software characteristics that will effectively support project planning, execution, monitoring and closure remains to be one of the prevalent challenges software project managers face. Functional size measures were introduced to quantify one of the primary characteristics of software. Although functional size measurement methods have not been without criticisms, they have significant promises for software project management. In this paper, we explore the contributions of functional size measurem...
Software Repository Analysis for Investigating Design-Code Compliance
OZBAS-CAGLAYAN, Kadriye; Doğru, Ali Hikmet (2013-10-26)
Compliance check between code and design is a labor-intensive job to do, since it requires the code to be reverse engineered and checked versus design manually. On the other hand, investigation of the design-code compliance would give some valuable information to software development and maintenance managers. In this study, an approach for employing software repository analysis and text mining techniques to extract and analyze compliance levels of design and code efficiently is presented.
