In parallel with its increasing political and economic gravity, Chinas dissatisfaction with the Liberal International Order has considerably intensified, leading it to found the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), which is regarded as an alternative to global financial institutions making up of the Liberal International Order, such as the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Some scholars argue that these newly founded institution will be a challenge, whereas others believe that it can be complementary and opportunity for existing Liberal International Order. Centering around this scientific inquiry, this thesis aims to explore the role of the Bank in Chinese Foreign Policy and unfold whether it is a threat against or an opportunity for existing international order.
