The present work aims at comparing the predictions that are obtained, for the noise emitted by a ducted diaphragm, using a numerical acoustic simulation and an analytical Green’s function. In both cases the flow model is obtained by means of Scale-Adaptive Simulations and interpreted as equivalent sources along the lines of the aeroacoustic analogy. The flow regime is weakly compressible with a maximum Mach number about 0.5. This work constitutes the very first step of a wider study aimed at quantifying the numerical robustness and accuracy of hybrid methods for weakly compressible flows.
