Interaction of pressure, time and temperature of pressurization on viability loss of Listeria innocua
Alpas, Hami; Bozoglu, F; Ray, B (1998-03-01)
In this study, the combined effectiveness of pressures of 137.9-344.7 MPa, temperatures of 25-50 degrees C and exposure times of 5-15 min on Listeria viability in peptone solution is examined. The results showed that under the innocua study conditions only the combination of 344.7 MPa, 50 degrees C and 9.1 min can reduce the viability of this species by 7 logs, with a z value of 173.1 MPa.
Influence of ultrasonically assisted synthesis on particle size of magnetic nanoparticles
KÜÇÜK, Burcu; Özkan, Necati; Volkan, Mürvet (2013-10-01)
Poly(methacrylic acid)(PMAA) coated magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were synthesized via co-precipitation in aqueous solution with the use of conventional magnetic stirring and ultrasonic agitation. It has been shown that the ultrasonic agitation during the synthesis of magnetite particles decreased the size of PMAA-coated magnetic agglomerates significantly. The primary particle size of iron oxide particles was determined as approximately 10 nm by X-ray diffraction method (Scherer's equation). The volume w...
Effect of magnesium on FOX-7 and its tautomers-A DFT treatment
Türker, Burhan Lemi (2018-06-01)
FOX-7 and its cisoid and transoid 1,5-tautomers as well as magnesium composites of all have been investigated quantum chemically within the restrictions of density functional theory (B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p)). Certain physico-chemical and quantum chemical properties, energies, stabilities, calculated IR and UV-VIS spectra are discussed. The influence of magnesium atom is investigated. It has been found that in FOX-7 composites the magnesium is not a silent ingredient, but interacts with the organic constituents....
Effect of recycle on fluidized-bed combustion and emission characteristics of high-sulfur lignite
Selçuk, Nevin; Harmandar, H; Altindag, H (2004-05-01)
The effect of recycle on gaseous pollutant emissions from fluidized-bed combustion of high-quality coals has extensively been investigated and is well documented. However, the effect of recycle on gaseous emissions from combustion of Turkish lignites with high ash, volatile matter, and sulfur contents has not been investigated to date. Recent trends in the utilization of indigenous lignites in fluidized-bed boilers necessitated investigation of pollutant emissions and adaptation of fluidized-bed combustion ...
