Generation of 2-mu J 410-fs pulses from a single-mode chirped-pulse fiber laser operating at 1550 nm
Pavlova, Svitlana; Rezaei, Hossein; Pavlov, Ihor; Kalaycioglu, Hamit; Ilday, Fatih Omer (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-10-01)
We report on a simple, robust, femtosecond chirped-pulse-amplification system, based on Er-and Er-Yb-doped fibers, operating at a central wavelength of 1555 nm. The entire system is constructed from commercially available fiber components, except the grating compressor, for easy duplication by other researchers. The laser system produces chirped pulses with up to 4 mu J of pulse energy at 250 kHz. After dechirping, the pulse duration is 410 fs and the pulse energy is reduced to 2 mu J. The repetition rate o...
GENERATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF HYDROGEL MICRODROPLETS AS BIOINK FOR BIOPRINTING APPLICATIONS
Sucularlı, Ferah; Yıldırım, Ender; Arıkan, Mehmet Ali Sahir (null; 2019-04-11)
In this study, we present a technique for generation of hydrogel microdroplets as bioink for droplet deposition of tissues and organs. We also characterized the size and dispersion of the microdroplets. For this purpose, we designed a flow-focusing droplet generator chip in which uncured hydrogel flowing through a 120 µm wide channel was pinched at two sides of the stream of oil flowing along 300 µm wide channels. The chip was fabricated by ultrasonically embossing the features on polymethylmethacrylate (PM...
GENERATION OF MULTIVARIATE AUTOREGRESSIVE SEQUENCES WITH EMPHASIS ON INITIAL VALUES
ULA, TA (Elsevier BV, 1992-12-01)
Certain aspects of data generation are studied through multivariate autoregressive (AR) models. The main emphasis is on the preservation of certain desired moments and the effect of initial values on these moments. The problem of preservation of moments is approached in a nontraditional way by starting with the initial values. For this purpose, general AR processes with a random start and with time-varying parameters are introduced to lay a foundation for the analysis of all types of AR processes, including...
Generation of patterned indentations for additive manufacturing technologies
Yaman, Ulaş; Dölen, Melik; Hoffmann, Christoph (Informa UK Limited, 2019-02-01)
This article proposes a novel approach to generate patterned indentations for different additive manufacturing methodologies. Surface textures have many practical applications in various fields, but require special manufacturing considerations. In addition to conventional manufacturing processes, additive processes have also been utilized in the last decade to obtain textured surfaces. The current design and fabrication pipeline of additive manufacturing operations have many disadvantages in that respect. F...
