The present study aims to explore the experiences of Kahramanmaraş earthquake survivors who waited for their loved ones to be rescued from beneath the rubble. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted with seven participants, aged between 25 and 39, who experienced the earthquake in various cities. The data were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), revealing six super-ordinate themes: (1) Beyond the Veil: Confronting the Reality, (2) In the Flesh: Shaping Meanings Through Bodily Experiences, (3) Waiting: Interactions Amid Uncertainty, (4) Judge, Am I Guilty?, (5) Post-Earthquake: Reunion Through Sleep, and (6) Distancing Agony: Narrating Yesterday in Today's Words. These findings were discussed in relation to mainstream psychological literature and psychoanalytic theories.
