Sensitivity and uncertainty analysis for a radioecological model
Unver, O.; Kocar, C.; Tuncel, G. (Carl Hanser Verlag, 2020-10-01)
Uncertainty and sensitivity analysis were conducted for a radioecological model which was developed and applied for severe accident scenario for Akkuyu NPP in Turkey. Uncertainty was investigated in the doses and activity concentrations. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to find out most influencing parameters on the doses. 96 parameters, related with foodstuffs, feedstuffs and grass, inhalation rate and reduction factor for external irradiation, and transfer of Cs-137, Cs-134 and I-131 isotopes, were stud...
Sensitivity and error analysis of a differential rectification method for CCD frame cameras and pushbroom scanners
Bettemir, Önder Halis; Karslıoğlu, Mahmut Onur; Department of Civil Engineering (2006)
In this thesis, sensitivity and error analysis of a differential rectification method were performed by using digital images taken by a frame camera onboard BILSAT and pushbroom scanner on ASTER. Three methods were implemented for Sensitivity and Uncertainty analysis: Monte Carlo, covariance analysis and FAST (Fourier Amplitude Sensitivity Test). A parameter estimation procedure was carried out on the basis of so called Mixed Model extended by some suitable additional regularization parameters to stabilize ...
Sensitivity and sea surface temperature analyses of WRF model for predicting heavy rainfall events observed in Eastern Black Sea and Mediterranean regions of Turkey
Pilatin, Heves; Yücel, İsmail; Kentel Erdoğan, Elçin; Department of Earth System Science (2020-8)
With this thesis it is aimed to enhance the prediction accuracy of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model on the extreme precipitation events of Mediterranean and Eastern Black Sea regions of Turkey. While the first part of sensitivity analysis was conducted for the physical parameters (microphysics, cumulus and PBL) and the initial boundary conditions, the second part has only focused on the impact of sea surface temperature (SST). After choosing 4 microphysics, 3 cumulus, 2 PBL and 2 input meteo...
Sensitivity of seismic hazard results to alternative seismic source and magnitude-recurrence models: a case study for Jordan
Yilmaz, Nazan; Yücemen, Mehmet Semih (2015-07-03)
Influence of different models and assumptions with respect to seismic source modelling and magnitude distribution on seismic hazard results is examined, taking Jordan as a case study. Four alternative models, which are based on different combinations of seismic source models and magnitude-recurrence relationships, are considered. Seismic hazard curves obtained at four different sites in Jordan according to these four models are compared. In order to display the magnitude of spatial variation of peak ground ...
