This paper examines human capital inequality in Turkey over the past seventy years, focusing on provincial and gender differences. Despite notable improvements in average years of schooling and a decline in schooling inequality, significant differences still exist across provinces and genders. In contrast, using the Mincerian measures of human capital, whether assuming increasing or decreasing returns, shows different patterns. Inequality rises under increasing returns, while with decreasing returns, it follows an inverted-U shape with a gradual decline only in recent years. Still, large differences persist across regions and genders. Additionally, within-province inequality and the gender gap also exhibit considerable geographic variation.
