The SND@LHC experiment is designed to study neutrinos produced in proton-proton collisions at the LHC, covering an energy range of a few hundred GeV to several TeV. It probes an unexplored pseudo-rapidity range of 7.2 < η < 8.4. The compact detector is located 480 meters downstream from the ATLAS interaction point in the TI18 tunnel. It consists of a veto system, a tungsten target interleaved with layers of nuclear emulsion, scintillating fiber (SciFi) trackers, and a muon detection system. In this study, a measurement of the cross-section for muonic trident production in muon– nucleus interactions in the rock upstream of the detector, using the SciFi tracker, is presented. The average cross-section of muonic trident production per rock atom is measured to be σ = 179.0 ± 3.7 (stat) +27.5 −37.5 (sys) nb/atom.
