Content Placement Problem in a Hierarchical Collaborative Caching method for 5G networks (CPP-HCC)
Hassanzadeh, Farnaz; Onur, Ertan (2020-01-01)
The increasing demand for video streaming has imposed tremendous data rates and minimal end-to-end latency requirements on 5G mobile networks. Caching content close to the users is one of the conventional ways to meet these requirements. Subsequent requests for the same content can be supplied from the cache with minimal delay. In this paper, we present a content placement problem in a hierarchical collaborative caching (CPP-HCC) in 5G networks that can determine the location of the replica contents by solv...
Content delivery networks and their roles in eLearning
Turker, MA (2004-04-30)
Content Delivery Networks (CDN) utilize the large caching capacities at the edges of the network to case down the media serving requirements of Internet sites and to enable faster delivery of content to the end users. CDN technology can scale from small enterprise networks to large global networks. In the case of eLearning content, a heterogeneous network with a mixture of options can be used. CDN caches are updated frequent enough to mirror the right content of the site, yet the updates are at times which ...
CONTENT BASED HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGE RETRIEVAL USING BAG OF ENDMEMBERS IMAGE DESCRIPTORS
Omruuzun, Fatih; Demir, Begum; Bruzzone, Lorenzo; Çetin, Yasemin (2016-08-24)
This paper proposes a novel system for fast and accurate content based retrieval of hyperspectral images. The proposed system aims at retrieving hyperspectral images that have both similar spectral characteristics associated with specific materials and fractional abundances to the query image. It consists of two modules. The first module characterizes the query and the target hyperspectral images in the archive by two descriptors: 1) a binary spectral descriptor representing spectral characteristics of dist...
Content based packet filtering in linux kernel using deterministic finite automata
Bilal, Tahir; Şehitoğlu, Onur Tolga; Department of Computer Engineering (2011)
In this thesis, we present a content based packet filtering Architecture in Linux using Deterministic Finite Automata and iptables framework. New generation firewalls and intrusion detection systems not only filter or inspect network packets according to their header fields but also take into account the content of payload. These systems use a set of signatures in the form of regular expressions or plain strings to scan network packets. This scanning phase is a CPU intensive task which may degrade network p...
Content Aware Audiovisual Quality Assessment
Konuk, Baris; Zerman, Emin; Akar, Gözde; NUR YILMAZ, GÖKÇE (2015-05-19)
In this study, a novel, content aware audiovisual quality assessment (AVQA) method using a spatio-temporal characteristics based video classification method has been proposed and evaluated on AVQA database created by University of Plymouth. The proposed AVQA method is evaluated using subjective audio mean opinion score (MOS) and subjective video MOS. Results indicate that both classification method and the proposed content dependent AVQA method are quite satisfactory
