Identifying the effects of lean construction principles on variability of project duration /
Erol, Hacı Hüseyin; Dikmen Toker, İrem; Birgönül, Mustafa Talat; Department of Civil Engineering (2014)
Performance of the construction projects have been criticized for many years due to their low productivity rates and cost overruns as well as significant delays. Increasing number of dissatisfied customers compel practitioners to reform conventional practices of construction management. Lean construction emerges as a result of change efforts in the industry. Lean construction promises a much better project performance by eliminating the waste and improving value to customer. Although many practical applicat...
Identifying preferred solutions in multiobjective combinatorial optimization problems
Lokman, Banu (2019-01-01)
We develop an evolutionary algorithm for multiobjective combinatorial optimization problems. The algorithm aims at converging the preferred solutions of a decision-maker. We test the performance of the algorithm on the multiobjective knapsack and multiobjective spanning tree problems. We generate the true nondominated solutions using an exact algorithm and compare the results with those of the evolutionary algorithm. We observe that the evolutionary algorithm works well in approximating the solutions in the...

Identifying factors affecting auditors’ adoption of computer assisted audit tools and techniques (caatts): an empirical ınvestigation
Doğanay, Doğa; Özkan Yıldırım, Sevgi; Department of Information Systems (2019)
Increasing use of Information Technologies in organizations both private and public, audit activities has become more complicated for audit bodies. At this stage, Computer Assisted Audit Tools and Techniques (CAATTs) provide many advantages to auditors to carry out their tasks in an effective and efficient manner in such an environment and expansion of CAATTs usage plays an important role for auditors and organizations. In order to increase usage of CAATTs, it is critical to know what factors are significan...
