Polarization phenomena in open charm photoproduction processes
Tomasi-Gustafsson, E; Rekalo, MP (American Physical Society (APS), 2004-05-01)
We analyze polarization effects in the associative photoproduction of pseudoscalar ((D) over bar (c)) charmed mesons in exclusive processes gamma+N-->Y-c+(D) over bar (c), Y-c=Lambda(c)(+), Sigma(c). Circularly polarized photons induce nonzero polarization of the Y-c hyperon with x and z components (in the reaction plane) and nonvanishing asymmetries A(x) and A(z) for polarized nucleon targets. These polarization observables can be predicted in a model-independent way for the exclusive (D) over bar (c)-prod...
Polarization phenomena in vector meson photoproduction on nucleons near threshold
Babacan, H; Babacan, T; Gokalp, A; Yılmaz, Osman (2000-10-21)
We propose and develop a model for rho (0) and omega photoproduction on nucleons near threshold based on t-, s-, and u-channel amplitudes. In t-channel we consider pi- and sigma- exchanges and we take the coupling constants (g(v), g(t)) in (s+u) nucleon contributions as free parameters. We fit our model to the available experimental differential cross-section data of gamma + p --> p + V reactions. We find that different models which are equivalently good for the description of the differential cross-section...
Polarization angle independent perfect multiband metamaterial absorber and energy harvesting application
Gunduz, O. T.; Sabah, C. (2016-03-01)
A new kind of multi-band metamaterial absorber based on the concentric ring resonators is engineered to be used in various microwave applications including energy harvesting. Numerical investigations are carried out step by step for observation of the effect of each ring resonator. The results reveal that the structure almost perfectly absorbs the electromagnetic wave with polarization angle independency at multiple resonant frequencies in the microwave range. Additionally, the structure is characterized ac...
Polarization Angle Independent Perfect Metamaterial Absorbers for Solar Cell Applications in the Microwave, Infrared, and Visible Regime
Dincer, Furkan; Akgol, Oguzhan; KARAASLAN, MUHARREM; ÜNAL, EMİN; Sabah, Cumali (EMW Publishing, 2014-01-01)
We design, characterize, and analyze a new kind of metamaterial (MTM) absorber (MA) in different frequency regions for the solar cell applications. This MTM based structure is particularly presented in a range of the solar spectrum in order to utilize the solar energy effectively. The proposed MTM based solar cell provides perfect absorption for both infrared and visible frequency ranges and can be used for the realization of more efficient new solar cells. The structure is also tested in terms of the polar...
Polarization angle independent metamaterial absorber based on circle-shaped resonators with interference theory
Dincer, Furkan; Karaaslan, Muharrrem; AKGÖL, OĞUZHAN; ÜNAL, EMİN; Sabah, Cumali (2015-11-10)
We theoretically and numerically designed a perfect metamaterial absorber at microwave frequencies. The proposed design has a very simple geometry, wide band properties and provides perfect absorption for all polarization angles which is one of the most desired properties for an absorber structure to be used in the applications where the source polarization is unknown. In order to explain the absorption mechanism both numerical and theoretical analyses are carried out. Designed structure offers a perfect ab...
