Physical planning issue in Cappadocia: A case study on Ihlara

In the context of this thesis, the problems related to physical planning in the Cappadocia Region are considered. This study is examined in two stages as regional-scale and town-scale. The analyses, evaluations and solution alternatives are evaluated in these aspects. The major hypothesis of this study is that in Turkey the problems related to conservation planning actually derives from the defects of the physical planning. In this aspect the town of Ihlara is selected as the subject of the case study. Through the analysis, the problems of the town related to planning are stated and alternative solutions are proposed.
