Effect of pulp rheology on flotation of nickel sulphide ore with fibrous gangue particles
Genc, A. Merve; Kilickaplan, I.; Laskowski, J. S. (2012-10-01)
Tests are carried out with suspensions of fibrous chrysotile particles and nickel sulphide ore containing chrysotile as a gangue. They corroborate published results, and indicate a very strong effect of particle shape on slurry rheology. Such suspensions exhibit time dependent properties. The flotation tests revealed that the viscosity of this system strongly affects flotation performance. At a solids concentration of 15-20% (w/w), the concentrate yield increases and the concentrate grade dramatically decli...

Effect of microvoids on anomalous moisture absorption of quartz/BMI composite laminates
Hurdelbrink, Keith R.; Grace, Landon R.; Güloğlu, Görkem Eğemen; Siddique, Zahed; Anderson, Jacob P.; Altan, M. Cengiz (2014-01-01)
Copyright © 2014 by ASME.The focus of this paper was to investigate the effects of microvoid content in quartz/BMI laminates on both short and long-term moisture absorption dynamics. The moisture absorption characteristics for the laminates were experimentally obtained by water immersion tests at 25°C of three-ply quartz/BMI samples that contain voids, ranging from 8.6% to 13.7% by volume. The void levels were obtained by conditioning the prepreg at different moisture levels for 48 hours in an environmental...
Effect of Anaerobic Azo Dye Reduction on Continuous Sludge Digestion
Ozkan-Yucel, Umay Gokce; Gökçay, Celal Ferdi (Wiley, 2014-10-01)
Effect of continuous feeding of a reactive azo dye, reactive orange 107, and its hydrolyzed form (HRO107), on a conventional anaerobic digester was investigated in this study together with observation of change in microbial community. Laboratory-scale digesters were fed with waste activated sludge and azo dye for 575 days continuously. The influent concentrations of reactive azo dye were between 200 and 3200 mg/L. The digester performance was not adversely affected by azo dye and its reduction metabolites t...
Effect of Cr and Mo doping on the electrochemical properties of freeze-dried LiCoO2
Buyukburc, Atil; Aydınol, Mehmet Kadri (2014-10-01)
In this study, LiCoO2 is doped with 2 mol.% Cr and Mo in order to determine the effect of these elements on the electrochemical performance. Precursors are synthesized by means of freeze drying. Calcination is applied at 750 degrees C for 24 h. Doping content and calcination temperature as well as duration are very important for producing impurity-free layered LiCoO2. If the doping content is larger than 2 mol.% or when the calcination temperature is decreased to 550 degrees C, impurity phases are seen. As ...
