Collisional damping of giant resonances with an optimized finite-range effective interaction
Yildirim, S; Tarikci, A (2002-10-01)
Collisional damping widths of isoscalar giant monopole, isovector giant dipole and isoscalar giant quadrupole excitations for Sn-120 and Pb-208 at zero and finite temperatures are calculated within Thomas-Fermi approximation by employing a recently proposed modified Skyrme force and the results are compared with previous works.
Collisional damping of giant monopole and quadrupole resonances
Yildirim, S; Gokalp, A; Yılmaz, Osman; Ayik, S (2001-03-01)
Collisional damping widths of giant monopole and quadrupole excitations for Sn-120 and Pb-208 at zero and finite temperatures are calculated within Thomas-Fermi approximation by employing the microscopic in-medium cross-sections of Li and Machleidt and the phenomenological Skyrme and Gogny forces, and are compared with each other. The results for the collisional widths of giant monopole and quadrupole vibrations at zero temperature as a function of the mass number show that the collisional damping of giant ...
Collisional damping of nuclear collective vibrations in a non-Markovian transport approach
Ayik, S; Yılmaz, Osman; Gokalp, A; Schuck, P (1998-09-01)
A detailed derivation of the collisional widths of collective vibrations is presented in both quantal and semiclassical frameworks by considering the linearized limits of the extended time-dependent Hartree-Fock and the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck model with a non-Markovian binary collision term. Damping widths of giant dipole and giant quadrupole excitations are calculated by employing an effective Skyrme force, and the results are compared with giant dipole resonance measurements in lead and tin nuclei at...
Collisional damping of giant dipole resonance in Sn-120 and Pb-208
Gokalp, A; Yılmaz, Osman; Yildirim, S; Ayik, S (2001-03-01)
We investigate the collisional damping of giant dipole resonance at finite temperature in the basis of a non-Markovian transport approach. We perform our calculations in Thomas-Fermi approximation by employing the microscopic in-medium cross-sections of Li and Machleidt and the phenomenological Gogny force. The results account for about 30% of the observed widths in Sn-120 and Pb-208 at finite temperatures.
