A Low-Profile DielectricWaveguide Altimeter Antenna
Haykir, Yigit; Dagdeviren, Birkan; Korkmaz, Anil Direnc; Demir, Şimşek (2020-08-01)
In this paper, design and implementation of a compact, low-profile and low-cost altimeter antenna is presented. A top-open dielectric waveguide is utilized to obtain a radiation pattern that illuminates from 20 to 70 degrees on the elevation plane. The proposed antenna pair can be used efficiently as a radar altimeter antenna in the course of landing. The antenna can cope with high skin temperatures, especially in supersonic flights because a high-temperature resistant dielectric material is used. Satisfact...
A 35 GHz coplanar waveguide power divider
Gürbüz, Ozan Doǧan; Topalli, Kagan; Ünlü, Mehmet; Demir, Şimşek; Akın, Tayfun (2010-12-20)
This text presents the design and measurement of a power divider topology implemented using coplanar waveguides by micromachining technology. The power divider is a three port structure. For simple three port power divider structures significant modifications are needed for changing power division ratio. For the proposed one in this paper the ratio can be adjusted by changing only the lengths of shunt stubs included in the structure. The design is at 35 GHz and the implementation is done by coplanar wavegui...
A monolithic three-axis micro-g micromachined silicon capacitive accelerometer
Chae, J; Külah, Haluk; Najafi, K (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2005-04-01)
A monolithic three-axis micro-g resolution silicon capacitive accelerometer system utilizing a combined surface and bulk micromachining technology is demonstrated. The accelerometer system consists of three individual single-axis accelerometers fabricated in a single substrate using a common fabrication process. All three devices have 475-mu m-thick silicon proof-mass, large area polysilicon sense/drive electrodes, and small sensing gap (< 1.5 mu m) formed by a sacrificial oxide layer. The fabricated accele...
A Lorentz force MEMS magnetometer
Pala, Sedat; Cicek, Meltem; Azgın, Kıvanç (2016-11-03)
This paper presents a Lorentz force magnetometer with a MEMS resonator structure as a sensor. Magnetometer composed of a resonator and a grill structure. The grill structure reduces the heat generation due to the current required to generate the Lorentz force. The proposed sensor is produced with standard SOI micromachining processes with device layer thickness of 35 mu m. The natural frequency of resonator is around 83 kHz, Q-factor of 1870 at around 40 mTorr ambient pressure. Tests are done for 1.12 mT ma...
