Detailed Noise Analysis of Current-to-Frequency Converters for Precision Analog Accelerometers
Nuzumlali, Omer Lutfi (2016-04-14)
This paper presents a detailed noise analysis of current-to-frequency converters (CFC) for current output precision analog accelerometers. In the proposed method, time domain approach is used instead of frequency domain approach and the standard deviation of the velocity error after a fixed period of time is calculated. The noise analysis demonstrates that the error caused by voltage noises does not increase with time. However, the standard deviation of the error due to the feedback current noise increases ...
Detailed Characterization of Structure-Property Relationship of Polyurethanes Synthesized as Biomaterials
Aksoy, Eda Ayse; Hasırcı, Nesrin (2012-12-01)
Development of new polyurethanes (PUs) and the modification of the existing ones are still considered as novel areas. This research deals with the preparation of PUs synthesized from its starting materials (without using any solvent, catalyst or chain extender) and examination of the structure property relation through different techniques. Series of segmented elastomeric PU films were synthesized by using different combinations of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and polyol(polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene triol...
Detailed modeling and control of a 2-DOF gimbal system
Poyrazoğlu, Erhan; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2017)
Gimbal systems are used in various engineering applications such as military systems. Their configurations are designed according to the types of application and desired performance requirements. The essential aim of these systems is to compensate the disturbance effects in order to stabilize LOS and positioning to the desired point. In this thesis, first, a detailed mathematical model of a 2-DOF gimbal system containing some nonlinear dynamic effects such as friction, static and dynamic mass unbalance is obt...
Accurate modeling of surge and swab pressures of yield power law fluids in concentric annuli
Erge, O.; Akın, Serhat; Gucuyener, I.h. (2018-01-01)
Accurate numerical modeling of surge and swab pressures in concentric annuli is proposed. The numerical scheme is developed for the laminar flow occurring during the drillstring axial movement. The model incorporates Yield Power Law (YPL) fluids, which is a good representation of the most of the drilling fluids. A commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package is used to validate the developed numerical model. Also, the mathematical model and CFD analysis are compared with the existing models from li...
Comprehensive modeling of heat and mass transport in a micropillar evaporator
Yuncu, Göksel; Dursunkaya, Zafer; Akkuş, Yiğit; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2022-4-05)
Thin-film evaporation and the replenishing capillary liquid flow have paramount importance for various technological applications spanning from desalination to electronics cooling. With the developments enabling faster and cheaper yet more precise fabrication, evaporators with micropillar arrays have attracted substantial attention to sustain efficient evaporation fed by passive liquid transport. Although considerable effort has been devoted to designing optimized wicks, the full picture is still blurry due...
