Spectroscopic intensities as measures of order parameter close to order-disorder transitions
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1988-01-01)
The infrared and Raman intensities can be related to the order parameter close to order-disorder phase transitions in crystal systems. In the present study this relationship has been obtained and compared with our experimental results for ammonium halides. Our predictions give satisfactory agreement with the observations in these crystals. It is proposed that the FTIR techniques can be appropriately used to evaluating the order parameter in various crystal systems.
Exact solutions of the supersmmetric quantum mechanics
Faridfathi, Gholamreza; Sever, Ramazan; Department of Physics (2005)
The supersymmetric solutions of PT-/non-PT symmetric and Hermitian/non-Hermitian forms of quantum systems are obtained by solving the SchrÄodinger equation with the deformed Morse, Hulthœen, PÄoschl-Teller, Hyperbolic Kratzer-like, Screened Coulomb, and Exponential-Cosine Screened Coulomb (ECSC) potentials. The Hamiltonian hi- erarchy method is used to get the real energy eigenvalues and corresponding wave functions.
Spectroelectrochemical investigation of the anodic oxidation of dibenzo-18-crown-6
Cihaner, A; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Elsevier BV, 2004-10-01)
Poly(dibenzo-18-crown-6) (poly-DB18C6) was synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) using a mixture of acetonitrile and dichloromethane as the solvent and tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBABF(4)) or tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF(6)) as supporting electrolyte. The anodic polymerization of DB18C6 was investigated using in situ ESR and in situ UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. Spectroelectrochemical (SPEL), properties and thermal analysis of the resulting po...
Experimental investigation of residual stresses introduced via shot peening and their effect on fatigue life of ball bearings
Küçükyılmaz, Ali; Gür, Cemil Hakan; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2010)
In this study, residual stresses introduced via application of shot peening on the raceways of bearing rings and their effect on the fatigue life was investigated experimentally. For improvement of residual compressive stress state, shot peening operation with different parameters was utilized. Residual stress measurements were conducted via X-ray diffraction technique. Optimization of residual stress state during the production of ball bearings is the main target of this study. Process parameters for shot ...
Spectroelectrochemical Investigation of Nuclease Active Pt(II) Complexes Containing Pyrrole Oxime
Altunöz Erdoğan, Deniz; Kayi, Hakan; Ozalp-Yaman, Seniz (2015-03-10)
In this paper, the electrochemical oxidation of three Pt(II) complexes containing pyrrole oxime (HL) having a general formula of [Pt(NH3)Cl(L)] (1), [Pt(L)(2)] (2), and K[PtCl2(L)] (3) has been investigated by in-situ spectroelectrochemistry in dimethylformamide (DMF). An irreversible metal-based oxidation process occurs during the anodic scan for each of the three complexes. The electronic absorption spectral changes indicate that all the three complexes generate similar Pt(IV) compounds and free ligand. O...
