A model for contract evaluation: subcontracting under dynamic deterministic demand environment
Özlen, Melih; Erkip, Nesim; Güllü, Refik; Department of Industrial Engineering (2003)
This study is about contract evaluation and selection in an environment where there exist two or more parties, namely a producer and one or more outsourcing companies offering different contract options. The producer faces dynamic deterministic demand, which is known at the beginning of the planning horizon, and has to decide on the quantities of production, outsourcing, inventory carrying, and backorder. Among these decisions, the producer has the opportunity of subcontracting from a set of options offered...
A heuristic approach for the single machine scheduling tardiness problems
Özbakır, Saffet İlker; Kırca, Ömer; Department of Industrial Engineering (2011)
In this thesis, we study the single machine scheduling problem. Our general aim is to schedule a set of jobs to the machine with a goal to minimize tardiness value. The problem is studied for two objectives: minimizing total tardiness value and minimizing total weighted tardiness value. Solving optimally this problem is difficult, because both of the total tardiness problem and total weighted tardiness problem are NP-hard problems. Therefore, we construct a heuristic procedure for this problem. Our heuristi...
A heuristic approach for profit-oriented disassembly scheduling problem
Kaya Akça, Melike; Bayındır, Zeynep Pelin; Çetinkaya, Ferda Can (null; 2013-07-01)
A heuristic approach for profit oriented disassembly sheduling problem Melike Kaya Akça, METU-Industrial Engineering Dept., Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Turkey, kamelike@metu.edu.tr, Z. Pelin Bayindir, Ferda Can Cetinkaya We consider a disassembly scheduling problem for multiple products with parts commonality and ample supply of discarded products. We propose a heuristic algorithm which is based on the idea of sequentially solving a relaxed ...
A heuristic approach for profit oriented disassembly lot-sizing problem
Kaya, Melike; Bayındır, Zeynep Pelin; Çetinkaya, Ferda Can; Department of Industrial Engineering (2011)
In this thesis, we work on adisassembly lot-sizing problem for multiple products with parts commonality,i.e., general product structure. We assume that supply of discarded products is infinite. When a product (or a subassembly) is disassembled, all its immediate child items are obtained,i.e., complete disassembly case.Intermediate and leaf items obtained are demandedbyexternal suppliers or remanufacturers. The maximum possible salesfor each intermediate and leaf item are known.Sales of the intermediate and ...
A QCD Sum Rules Approach to Mixing of Hadrons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Özpineci, Altuğ (2010-06-24)
A method for the calculation of the hadronic mixing angles using QCD sum rules is proposed. This method is then applied to predict the mixing angle between the heavy cascade hyperons Xi(Q) and Xi'Q where Q = c or Q = b. It is obtained the theta(b) = 6.4 degrees +/- 1.8 degrees and theta(c) = 5.5 degrees +/- 1.8 degrees.
