Calculation of molar volume as a function of temperature close to the melting point in benzene
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2007-01-01)
We study here the temperature dependence of the molar volume for constant pressures in benzene close to the melting point. By analyzing the experimental data for the thermal expansivity at various pressures in benzene, we calculate the molar volumes as functions of temperature in this system. Our calculations show that discontinuities in the molar volume decrease as the melting temperatures increase along the melting line when the constant pressures vary from 70.5 MPa to 175.2 MPa, as also observed experime...
Calculation of the Thermodynamic Quantities for Cubic Gauche Nitrogen (cg-N)
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit; Akay, O. (2022-01-01)
This work aims to investigate the thermodynamic properties of the cubic gauge nitrogen (cg-N) by calculating the relevant thermodynamic quantities as a functions of temperature and pressure. The thermodynamic quantities of volume (V), thermal expansion (alpha p), isothermal compressibility (kappa T), bulk modulus(B), and the heat capacity (Cp) are calculated as a function of temperature at constants pressures (0, 35, 125, 250 GPa) for the cg-N structure. Also, the pressure dependences of V, kappa T, alpha p...
Computation of drag force on single and close-following vehicles
Örselli, Erdem; Çetinkaya, Tahsin Ali; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2006)
In this study, application of computational fluid dynamics to ground vehicle aerodynamics was investigated. Two types of vehicle models namely, Ahmed Body and MIRA Notchback Body and their scaled models were used. A commercial software "Fluent" was used and the effects of implementing different turbulence models with wall functions were observed. As a result, an appropriate turbulence model was selected to use in the study. The drag forces, surface pressure distributions and wake formations were investigate...
Calculation of the Raman frequency as a function of pressure for the phases of I, III, IV and V in cyclohexane
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2014-06-05)
The Raman frequencies of the v(5) mode are calculated as a function of pressure up to 10 GPa (room temperature) for the phases I, III, IV and V of cyclohexane using the volume data from the literature by means of the isothermal mode Griineisen parameter gamma(T) of this mode.
CALCULATION OF VOLUME AS FUNCTIONS OF TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE IN ICE I CLOSE TO THE MELTING POINT
Kilit, E.; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2010-07-30)
We calculate in this study the volume of ice I as functions of temperature and pressure close to the melting point by analyzing the experimental data for the thermal expansivity. Using an approximate relation, the temperature dependence of the volume is calculated at 202.4 MPa from the thermal expansivity of ice I. The pressure dependence of the volume is also calculated at 252.3 K from the isothermal compressibility of ice I close to the melting point.
