Isolation characterization of the K4 type yeast killer toxin
Acun, Tolga; İzgü, Kadri Fatih; Department of Biology (2003)
Killer yeasts secrete polypeptide toxins which kill sensitive cells of their own species and frequently those of other species and genera of yeasts. These protein compounds are designated as killer toxins. Also killer toxins of certain yeast strains have potential growth inhibitory activity on gram-positive pathogenic bacteria and plant pathogenic fungi. The yeasts are immune to their own killer protein. The killer phenomenon can be utilized for the protection of fermentation process against contaminating y...
Isolation and characterization of the K6 type yeast killer protein
Izgu, F; Altinbay, D; Sagiroglu, AK (1999-01-01)
The optimum production of K6 type yeast killer protein by Kluyveromyces fragilis NCYC 587 occurred at pH 4.0-4.4 and at 22-24 degrees C in a killer-zone assay test. The K6 killer protein was concentrated by acetone precipitation of the culture supernatant and purified by native polyacrylamide rod gel electrophoresis. The protein migrated as a single band on discontinuous gradient SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and had a molecular weight of 42,313. The isoelectric point of the K6 type protein was det...
Classification of Almost Completely Decomposable Groups
Solak, Ebru(2018-12-31)
Almost completely decomposable (acd) gruplar torsiyonsuz degismeli gruplardır.
Assessment of sound transmission characteristics of traditional timber framed dwellings in Ankara Turkey
Erdil, Meltem; Tavukçuoğlu, Ayşe; Çalışkan, Mehmet (null; 2015-06-01)
The impact and airborne sound transmission characteristics of interior wall and floor components in traditional timber-framed dwellings (Ankara, Turkey) were examined by in-situ acoustical measurements and simulation analyses. Presence of voids for the running of pipework or door/ window openings existed in the composition of timber framed wall and floor components was found to reduce their sound insulation performances in the range of 12-22dB. Air/sound leakages through the openings should be sealed proper...
Evaluation of the perceived naturalness of artificial reverberation algorithms
Djordjevic, Stojan; Hacıhabiboğlu, Hüseyin; Cvetkovic, Zoran; De Sena, Enzo (null; 2020-01-01)
© 2020 148th Audio Engineering Society International Convention. All rights reserved.Listening tests were carried out using a modified MUSHRA method to compare the perceived naturalness of reverberation generated using scattering delay networks (SDNs), feedback delay networks (FDNs), CATT-Acoustic modelling, and convolution with recorded room impulse responses. The difference in naturalness ratings achieved by reverberation generated using FDNs and SDNs was statistically significant, with the mean rating be...
