Collective modes in flux line liquids
Tanatar, B; Oral, Ahmet (2000-07-01)
We study the collective modes of flux line liquids such as occur in the type-II superconductors of recent interest composed of two-dimensional layered structures. Starting from the vortex-vortex interaction and employing the dielectric formalism within the random-phase approximation, we find propagating sound modes in the long-wavelength limit.

Collective Gradient Perception in a Flocking Robot Swarm
Karagüzel, Tugay Alperen; Turgut, Ali Emre; Ferrante, Eliseo (2020-01-01)
Animals can carry their environmental sensing abilities beyond their own limits by using the advantage of being in a group. Some animal groups use this collective ability to migrate or to react to an environmental cue. The environmental cue sometimes consists of a gradient in space, for example represented by food concentration or predators’ odors. In this study, we propose a method for collective gradient perception in a swarm of flocking agents where single individuals are not capable of perceiving the gr...
MUTUAL COUPLING EFFECTS OF FINITE RECTANGULAR PHASED-ARRAYS
YAVUZ, H; BUYUKDURA, OM (1994-04-14)
A rigorous integral equation formulation for the analysis of a phased array of flangemounted waveguide apertures is given for a finite number of elements and nonuniform spacings. The resulting set of ihtegrd equations is reduced to a matrix equation called the coupling matrix which relates the coefficients of all the modes in all the waveguides to one another. The solution then yields the dominant mode reflection coefficient, coefficients of scattered modes and hence the field in each waveguide. The blockTo...
Collective Guilt Antecedets Outcomes and Ways of Avoding
