Cooperative games under interval uncertainty: on the convexity of the interval undominated cores
Branzei, R.; ALPARSLAN GÖK, Sırma Zeynep; Branzei, O. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-12-01)
Uncertainty is a daily presence in the real world. It affects our decision making and may have influence on cooperation. Often uncertainty is so severe that we can only predict some upper and lower bounds for the outcome of our actions, i.e., payoffs lie in some intervals. A suitable game theoretic model to support decision making in collaborative situations with interval data is that of cooperative interval games. Solution concepts that associate with each cooperative interval game sets of interval allocat...
Cooperative Broadcasting with Successive Refinement based Compression
Yildirim, Seckin Anil; Yüksel Turgut, Ayşe Melda (2013-01-01)
As a new achievability scheme, successive refinement coding based compress-and-forward relaying (sCF) is proposed for both discrete memoryless and Gaussian broadcast relay channels (BRC) with one source, two destinations and a dedicated relay. A new outer bound is also provided on the capacity region of physically degraded BRC. Then, the achievability scheme is extended to K-destinations. For the Gaussian BRC, it is shown that the sCF rate region outperforms other CF schemes in the literature. Finally, it i...
Cooperative Network Coded ARQ Strategy for Broadcast Networks
Tutgun, Rasit; AKTAŞ, EMRE (2015-06-12)
A novel cooperative automatic repeat request (ARQ) method with network coding is proposed for broadcast networks where single source node broadcasts multiple packets to multiple destinations. Upon a failed transmission, multiple relays cooperate with the source node at the retransmission phase, where network coding is used to combine multiple lost packets. A random access mechanism is employed where retransmission is done according to back-off counters. The proposed method employs the back-off mechanism to ...
Cooperative Communications in Future Home Networks
Genc, Zulkuf; Rizvi, Umar H.; Onur, Ertan; Niemegeers, Ignas (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2010-05-01)
The basic idea behind cooperative communications is that mobile terminals collaborate to send data to each other. This effectively adds diversity in the system and improves the overall performance. In this paper, we investigate the potential gains of cooperative communication in future home networks. We derive analytical expressions for the error probability of binary phase shift keying (BPSK) signals over Nakagami-m fading channels in a multi relay communication network. Following to the analytical study, ...
Cooperative diversity techniques for wireless networks
Bilgin, Ali; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (2006-04-19)
Relay networks have usually been investigated within a single source (S), relay (R), and destination (D) group in the literature. In this work, cooperative diversity techniques will be investigated for relay networks having multiple S, R and D's. Simulations results for linear and uniform S, R and D localizations will be presented.
