A hierarchical modeling tool for ınstructional design
Azgür, Mehmet Serhat; Doğru, Ali Hikmet; Department of Computer Engineering (2010)
A component-oriented tool for hierarchical modeling of instructional designs is developed. The motivation is to show that hierarchical representation of instructional designs is easier, better and more effective for modeling. Additionally a modeling language is developed to provide an effective, flexible and easy to use integration model in which all teaching components are discovered, defined and connected. In order to fulfill the above purposes an abstract notation is developed that is sufficiently genera...
A Feature Extraction Method for Marble Tile Classification
DEVİREN, Murat; M KORAY, Balcı; Leloğlu, Uğur Murat; SEVERCAN, Mete (2000-03-03)
This study focuses on a feature extraction algorithm for classification of marble tiles. The color content and vein distribution are considered to be the main criteria for classification. A color segmentation algorithm is used for detection of veins. The shape analysis of the veins are done by utilizing the distance image.

A deep learning methodology for the flow field prediction around airfoils
Duru, Cihat; Baran, Özgür Uğraş; Alemdar, Hande; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2021-9-07)
This study aims to predict flow fields around airfoils using a deep learning methodology based on an encoder-decoder convolutional neural network. Neural network training and evaluation are performed from a set of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solutions of the 2-D flow field around a group of known airfoils at a wide range of angles of attack. Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS)-based CFD simulations are performed at a selected Mach number on the transonic regime on high-quality structured computati...
A knowledge-based risk management tool for construction projects using case-based reasoning
Okudan, Ozan; Budayan, Cenk; Dikmen Toker, İrem (2021-07-01)
Construction projects are often deemed as complex and high-risk endeavours, mostly because of their vulnerability to external conditions as well as project-related uncertainties. Risk management (RM) is a critical success factor for companies operating in the construction industry. RM is a knowledge-intensive process that requires effective management of risk-related knowledge. Although some research has already been conducted to develop tools to support knowledge-based RM processes, most of these tools ign...
