Implementation of the Sampling Importance Resampling Particle Filter Algorithm in Graphics Processing Unit
Dülger, Özcan; Oğuztüzün, Mehmet Halit S.; Demirekler, Mübeccel (2015-05-19)
When the particle filter has too many particles, the computational cost increases and the sequential algorithms become inefficient in terms of the execution time. Recent developments in the graphics processing unit technology offer promising solutions for the speedup of the particle filter. In this study, Sampling Importance Resampling (SIR) particle filter method is implemented on the graphics processing unit. The speedup results are compared with results of the sequential and parallel implementations of t...
Implementation of a PWM Regular Sampling Strategy for AC Drives
Richardson, Julian; Kukrer, Osman T. (1991-10-01)
The regular sampling technique offers a feasible basis for the microprocessor-control of inverters in pulsewidth modulated (PWM) ac drives. An implementation of this technique is presented for the speed control of an induction motor in the frequency range 5-105 Hz. Hardware and software design principles are outlined and discussed for an 8-bit microprocessor. Spectral analyses of the sampling technique with a sinusoidal modulating function and with a third harmonic added to this function are derived, with e...

Implementation of the equivalence principle algorithm for potential integral equations
Farshkaran, Ali; Ergül, Özgür Salih; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2018)
In this thesis, a domain decomposition method based on the Huygens' principle for integral equations is studied. Step-by-step development of equivalence principle algorithm (EPA) is described for solving arbitrary shaped perfect electric conductor (PEC) and penetrable objects. The main advantage of EPA is its efficiency thanks to the enhanced conditioning hence accelerated iterative solutions of the matrix equations derived from discretizations. For further enhancing the efficiency, the multilevel fast mult...
Implementation of the Equivalence Principle Algorithm for Potential Integral Equations
Farshkaran, Ali; Ergül, Özgür Salih (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2019-05-01)
A novel implementation of the equivalence principle algorithm (EPA) employing potential integral equations (PIEs) is presented. EPA is generalized to be compatible with PIEs that are used to formulate inner problems inside equivalence surfaces. Based on the stability of PIEs, the resulting EPA-PIE implementation is suitable for low-frequency problems involving dense discretizations with respect to wavelength. Along with the formulation and a clear demonstration of the EPA-PIE mechanism, high accuracy, stabi...
