Preparation of Gadolina Stabilized Bismuth Oxide Doped with Boron via Electrospinning Technique
TUNÇ, TUNCAY; Uslu, Ibrahim; Durmusoglu, Senol; Keskin, Selda; Aytimur, Arda; Akdemir, Ahmet (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2012-01-01)
In this study, boron doped and undoped poly (vinyl) alcohol/bismuth-gadolina acetate (PVA/Bi-Gd) nanofibers were prepared using electrospinning technique then calcinated at 800 degrees C for 2 h. The originality of this study is the addition of boron to metal acetates. The effects of boron doping were investigated in terms of solution properties, morphological changes and thermal characteristics. The characteristics of the fibers were investigated with FT-IR, XRD, SEM and BET. The addition of boron did not ...
Preparation of boron-zirconium co-doped photocatalytic titanium dioxide powder
Tokmakçı, Tolga; Öztürk, Abdullah; Jongee, Park; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2013)
A titanium dioxide powder co-doped with boron and zirconium was prepared by mechanical ball milling. Photocatalytic performance of the powder was evaluated by degradation of methylene blue (MB) solution under UV illumination. XRD patterns were refined by Rietveld analysis method to obtain accurate lattice parameters and position of the atoms in the crystal structure of TiO2. XRD analysis indicated that the B and/or Zr doped TiO2 powders composed of anatase and did not exhibit any additional phase. Rietveld ...
Preparation of zeolite A tubes from amorphous aluminosilicate extrudates
Oezcan, Aysenur; Kalıpçılar, Halil (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2006-07-05)
A method is presented for the hydrothermal synthesis of binderless zeolite A bars and tubes with high purity from amorphous aluminosilicate extrudates. The solid that was separated from a hydrogel was mixed with an aqueous solution of hydroxyethyl cellulose to obtain a paste, which was extruded into bars and tubes. After calcination, amorphous bars and tubes were converted to zeolite A in the liquid phase that was separated from the hydrogel. The zeolite bars and tubes were composed of cubic zeolite A cryst...

Preparation and characterization of polybenzoxazine involving various additives
Hisar Telli, Ayşegül; Hacaloğlu, Jale; Özkan, Necati; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2021-1-12)
Polybenzoxazines, a class of phenolic offering excellent mechanical and physical properties, have been developed to overcome the shortcomings of the traditional phenolic resins. The features of these polymers such as no requirement for harsh catalysts, releasing no by-product, molecular design flexibility and low melt viscosity make this class of polymers a promising candidate for various industrial and academic applications. Several methods such as preparation of alloys with other high performance polymers...
