Development of Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers in 150 F-6-inbred durum wheat (Triticum durum) lines derived from Kunduru-1149 x Cham-1 cross
Göçmen, Birşen; Kaya, Zeki (2003-01-01)
Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers were developed in a specific durum wheat population (150 lines) derived from Kunduru-1149 x Chain-1 cross. Of 284 RAPD primers screened against parent DNAs, 83 revealed at least one polymorphic locus. The most polymorphic and clear bands producing 13 primers were selected and screened with the DNAs of 150 lines. These 13 primers revealed a total number of 33 segregating loci. The preliminary results of this study could be used as a base for mapping economicall...
Identification of Physical Helicopter Models Using Subspace Identification
Avcioglu, Sevil; Kutay, Ali Türker; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal (2020-04-01)
Subspace identification is a powerful tool due to its well-understood techniques based on linear algebra (orthogonal projections and intersections of subspaces) and numerical methods like singular value decomposition. However, the state space model matrices, which are obtained from conventional subspace identification algorithms, are not necessarily associated with the physical states. This can be an important deficiency when physical parameter estimation is essential. This holds for the area of helicopter ...
Determination of Nonlinear Joint Forces and Nonlinear Identification of Jointed Connections Using FRFs
Soleimani, Hossein; Ciğeroğlu, Ender; Özgüven, Hasan Nevzat (2023-01-01)
The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.Identification and modeling of joint dynamics is an important issue in the dynamic modeling of structures with joints. Moreover, structures connected by joints may show nonlinear behavior due to the existence of dry friction between the connected elements, especially at higher levels of vibration. Therefore, nonlinear identification of joints and parameterization of them is a necessary step in the dynamic analysis of structures. In thi...
Design of a mechanism for opening hatchback car baggage door
Duran, Yusuf; Söylemez, Eres; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2009)
In this thesis, a new mechanism design for opening hatchback-car baggage door is introduced. Unlike the classical hinged doors used, this new design will include a mechanism so that the door will be opened vertically and thus occupy less space behind the car during the opening. In this fashion even the hatchback doors of closely parked cars may be opened. First, considering type synthesis, different mechanism types are investigated. In dimensional synthesis, with the help of Burmester theory, motion generat...
Investigation of the flexible missile fins under aerothermal loadings
Özkökdemir, Emir; Kurtuluş, Dilek Funda; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2018)
Wings or fins on the body flying at the supersonic speed are subjected to the aerothermal loading. These loads are categorized into two main groups; aerodynamic pressure and aerodynamic heating. They affect the strength of wings. In this thesis study, a flexible NACA 65-009 wing of a missile flying at supersonic speed is investigated. It is studied to define the effect of the change in wing geometry by the external loads on the flow characteristics. The flow simulations are carried on Ansys Fluent that uses...
