PIC/MCC analysis of a photoresonance plasma sustained in a sodium vapor
SARIKAYA, C. Kusoglu; Rafatov, İsmail; KUDRYAVTSEV, A. A. (2017-08-01)
A parallel 1d3v Particle in Cell/Monte Carlo Collision (PIC/MCC) code was derived and applied for the investigation of the formation of photoplasma in sodium vapor. The effects of particle weighting and the Courant number on the computed plasma properties were examined, and the convergence of the numerical method with respect to these parameters was demonstrated. Simulations were carried out for the stepwise spatial profile of the resonant sodium atoms density. The basic plasma parameters (such as eedf, ied...

Abs/polyamide-6 blends, their short glass fiber composites and organoclay based nanocomposites: processing and characterization
Özkoç, Güralp; Bayram, Göknur; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2007)
The objective of this study is to process and characterize the compatibilized blends of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and polyamide-6 (PA6) using olefin based reactive copolymers and subsequently to utilize this blend as a matrix material in short glass fiber (SGF) reinforced composites and organoclay based nanocomposites by applying melt processing technique. In this context, commercially available epoxydized and maleated olefinic copolymers, ethylene-methyl acrylate-glycidyl methacrylate (EMA-GMA)...
Sol-gel Approaches for Elaboration of Polyol Dehydrogenase-Based Bioelectrodes
Urbanova, Veronika; Kohring, Gert-Wieland; Klein, Tobias; Wang, Zhijie; Mert, Olcay; Emrullahoglu, Mustafa; Buran, Kerem; Demir, Ayhan Gürbüz; Etienne, Mathieu; Walcarius, Alain (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2013-01-01)
This review describes the input of sol-gel chemistry to the immobilization of polyol dehydrogenases on electrodes, for applications in bioelectrocatalysis. The polyol dehydrogenases are described and their application for biosensing, biofuel cell and electrosynthesis are briefly discussed. The immobilization of proteins via sol-gel approaches is described, including a discussion on the difficulty to maintain the activity of proteins in a silica matrix and the strategies developed to offer a proper environme...
