Today, the healthcare IT vendors develop interfaces for their products to comply with the IHE Profiles and test them with other vendors in annual events, called IHE Connactathons which are one week events organized to perform interoperability testing. Network configuration including hostnames, IP addresses, port numbers for healthcare services and URLs for the various web services used in IHE profiles are stored on online databases accessible from the IHE website. When all companies register for participation to the connectathon, a default configuration is created in the database, assigning default values for healthcare service specific parameters. Afterwards, a company is expected to use the configuration parameters from that database during the connectathon. Except from the connectathons, the vendors could not test their products with other vendors’. In this thesis, research on IHE Configuration Management Tool based on IHE profiles, ebXML ebBP, CPP and CPA specifications is presented. The intention behind developing such a tool is to automate the creation and exchange of configuration information between IHE Actors in a Virtual Connectathon Portal. The results of this research enable the IHE product vendors to test their products in interactions with other vendors through the web anytime/anywhere by automatic business service interface configuration. The research enables the healthcare systems to engage with many trading partners at the same time automatically. The work presented in this thesis is realized as a part of IST-027065 RIDE project funded by European Commission.

Intelligent healthcare monitoring system based on semantically enriched clinical guidelines
Laleci, Gökçe Banu; Doğaç, Asuman; Department of Computer Engineering (2008)
Clinical guidelines are developed to assist healthcare practitioners to make decisions on a patient's medical problems and as such they communicate with external applications to retrieve patient data, to initiate medical actions through clinical workflows and to transmit information to alert/reminder systems. The interoperability problems in the healthcare IT domain for interacting with heterogeneous clinical workflow systems and Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) Systems prevent wider deployment of clinica...
Management tool support for software aquisition and information systems outsourcing projects for Turkish land forces command
Pınar, Adem; Bilgen, Semih; Department of Information Systems (2004)
This thesis reviews the software acquisition models and management tools used for managing, tracking and planning the acquisition projects all around the world. Then the requirements of Turkish Land Forces Command (TLFC) for a project management tool are considered. Features of a project management tool that is suitable for TLFC are determined through the ideas of TLFC personnel of IS department. After evaluation of selected tools through the requirements of TLFC the best one is presented. Then an interface...
Collaborative Business Process Support in eHealth: Integrating IHE Profiles Through ebXML Business Process Specification Language
Doğaç, Asuman; Kabak, Yildiray; Namli, Tuncay; Okcan, Alper (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2008-11-01)
Integrating healthcare enterprise (IHE) specifies integration profiles describing selected real world use cases to facilitate the interoperability of healthcare information resources. While realizing a complex real-world scenario, IHE profiles are combined by grouping the related IHE actors. Grouping IHE actors implies that the associated business processes (IHE profiles) that the actors are involved must be combined, that is, the choreography of the resulting collaborative business process must be determin...
A recommendation system combining context-awarenes and user profiling in mobile environment
Ulucan, Serkan; Erkmen, Aydan Müşerref; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
Up to now various recommendation systems have been proposed for web based applications such as e-commerce and information retrieval where a large amount of product or information is available. Basically, the task of the recommendation systems in those applications, for example the e-commerce, is to find and recommend the most relevant items to users/customers. In this domain, the most prominent approaches are أcollaborative filteringؤ and أcontent-based filteringؤ. Sometimes these approaches are called as أ...
Proposing an ISO/IEC 15504 Based Process Improvement Method for the Government Domain
Gökalp, Ebru (2015-06-17)
Model based process improvement has been successfully applied for software organizations. After observing this success, customizing it to specific domains/sectors becomes one of the most critical challenges. On the other side, there are some quality problems in government domain as: low efficiency and process performance, employee and citizen dissatisfaction, high cost and defect rates. Assuming that successful processes will be reflected in higher quality, the government processes have to be improved. Howe...
