Spectroscopic modifications of Pippard relations for ammonium halides
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (1997-11-01)
Spectroscopic modifications of the Pippard relations have been established for ammonium halides near their X-phase transitions. A linear relationship has been obtained between the specific heat and the frequency shifts using our observed Raman frequencies of the nu(5)TO(134 cm(-1)) and nu(5)LO(177 cm(-1)) lattice modes of NH4Br near its first-order phase transition (P = 0). Similar linear relationships have also been obtained using our observed Raman frequencies of the nu(5)TO(174 cm(-1)) lattice mode and t...
SPECTROSCOPIC INVESTIGATION OF PYROLYSIS PRODUCTS OF SOME POLYSTYRENES
ORHAN, BO; YALCIN, T; SUZER, S (1992-03-01)
An investigation of the pyrolysis products of some polystyrenes prepared by different methods is performed by Mass and IR spectroscopic techniques over the temperature range 30-450-degrees-C. Main pyrolysis product of the polystyrene samples obtained by a free radical initiator and gamma-rays is found to be styrene; whereas, toluene, ethylene and methane are observed as the pyrolysis products of plasma initiated polystyrene. The results demonstrate the dependence of pyrolysis products on polymer structure.
Spectroscopic modifications of the pippard relations for NaNO2 in the paraelectric phase
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2002-02-01)
We examine here our spectroscopic modification of the first Pippard relation for the paraelectric phase of NaNO2. By establishing a linear variation of the specific heat C-P with the frequency shifts 1/nu 2nu/deltaT for the q[010], q[001] and q[100] modes of NaNO2, we are able to calculate dT/dP values for the paraelectric phase in this crystalline system. Our calculated dT/dP values agree with those given in the literature.
Spectroscopic ellipsometry study of Bi12TiO20 single crystals
Isik, M.; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Darvishov, N. H.; Bagiev, V. E. (2021-02-01)
Bi12XO20 (X: Si, Ge, Ti, etc.) ternary compounds have attracted attention especially due to their fascinating photorefractive characteristics. The present paper introduces the structural and optical characteristics of Bi12TiO20 single crystals grown by Czochralski method. X-ray diffraction pattern of the compound exhibited sharp and intensive peaks corresponding to parallel planes of cubic crystalline structure. The lattice constant of the cubic structure was determined as a = 1.0118 nm using a diffraction ...
