Measurements of jet multiplicity and differential production cross sections of Z plus jets events in proton-proton collisions at root s=7 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2015-03-01)
Measurements of differential cross sections are presented for the production of a Z boson and at least one hadronic jet in proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV, recorded by the CMS detector, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb(-1). The jet multiplicity distribution is measured for up to six jets. The differential cross sections are measured as a function of jet transverse momentum and pseudorapidity for the four highest transverse momentum jets. The distribution of ...
Measurements of the pp WZ inclusive and differential production cross sections and constraints on charged anomalous triple gauge couplings at s=13 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2019-04-01)
The WZ production cross section is measured in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy = 13 TeV using data collected with the CMS detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1). The inclusive cross section is measured to be sigma(tot)(ppWZ)=48.0) pb, resulting in a total uncertainty of -2.78/+2.98 pb. Fiducial cross section and ratios of charge-dependent cross section measurements are provided. Differential cross section measurements are also presented with respect to three v...
Estimation of diffuse solar irradiation and its effects on PV power plant production at METU NCC
Kavas, Genco; Taylan, Onur; Sustainable Environment and Energy Systems (2019-8)
Excess amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission is the main reason of global warming. Renewable energy systems are one possible way to decrease GHG emission and solar energy is one of options; however, fluctuations on solar energy production is one of the main drawbacks. Accurate estimation of energy production from a solar power plant, such as PV-based plant is important to satisfy energy demand successfully. To be able to estimate energy production in advance, solar energy incident on PV modules should be ...
Estimation of fracture relative permeabilities from unsteady state corefloods
Akın, Serhat (2001-06-01)
A methodology to test the possible deviations of fracture relative permeabilities from straight-line relationship with saturation is discussed. It is shown that with matrix relative permeability data known, it is possible to obtain fracture relative permeabilities by history matching experimental data with double porosity numerical models output. Rather than linear saturation dependence, fracture relative permeability is a power law function of the corresponding phase saturation. The impact of several impor...
Estimation of consolidation settlements caused by groundwater drainage at Ulus-Keçiören subway project
Altınbilek, M. Erdem; Doyuran, Vedat; Department of Geological Engineering (2006)
Prediction of ground settlements have always been a big challenge for the engineers that are responsible for the design of subway tunnel projects. Since ground settlement is a crucial concept directly affecting the successfulness of a project, it must be taken seriously and should be accurately estimated. Consolidation settlements in the close proximity of Ulus-Keçiören Subway project due to groundwater drainage is the focus of this study. In this sense, the necessary data about the project characteristics ...
