Pattern and magnitude of genetic diversity in Pinus nigra ARNOLD subspecies pallasiana populations from Kazdagi: Implications for in situ conservation
Cengel, Burcu; Velioğlu, Ercan; Tolun, Ayper A; Kaya, Zeki (2000-01-01)
To determine the genetic structure of black pine (Pinus nigra ARNOLD subspecies pallasiana), populations sampled from Kazdag (Eybekli, Asar, Katrandag, Kalklm, Gurgendag, Kapidag, Mihlidere). Isozymes from 16 enzyme systems were investigated from haploid female megagametophytes by starch gel electrophoresis.
Pattern of genetic diversity in Turkey oak (quercus cerris l.) populations
Tümbilen Özer, Yeliz; Kaya, Zeki; Department of Biology (2014)
Quercus cerris L. is a native and widely distributed species in Turkey. It is an important element of Anatolian forests and with other oak species constitute 76.4% of broadleafed forests. However, there is little information on the genetic make-up of Turkish populations. In the current study, the genetic diversity of Q. cerris populations sampled within their natural range is assessed with microsatellite loci (SSRs) polymorphism. Thirteen populations were sampled from seven different locations. Four of thes...
Timing of depositional regime changes during the Late Cretaceous evolution of the Southern Pontides (Ankara, Central Anatolia, Turkey)
Sariaslan, Nisan; Altıner, Sevinç; Altıner, Demir (Elsevier BV, 2020-08-01)
During the Cretaceous, vast amounts of marine sediments were deposited along the south-facing active margin of the Eurasia. A stratigraphic section of 91 m was analyzed for planktonic foraminifera (75 samples), with the aim of establishing a refined biostratigraphy of Cenomanian-Campanian deposits in Central Anatolia. A biostratigraphic framework comprising nine biozones was established. In ascending order, the Rotalipora cushmani, Whiteinella archaeocretacea and Helvetoglobotruncana helvetica zones were de...
Timing and Nature of Mineralization and Associated Hydrothermal Alteration at the Öksüt High-Sulfidation Epithermal Au-Cu Deposit (Kayseri Province, Central Anatolia)

Magnitude and efficiency of genetic diversity captured from seed stands of Pinus nigra (Arnold) subsp pallasiana in established seed orchards and plantations
Cengel, Burcu; Tayanc, Yasemin; Kandemir, Gaye; Velioglu, Ercan; Alan, Murat; Kaya, Zeki (2012-05-01)
To test how efficiently plantations and seed orchards captured genetic diversity from natural Anatolian black pine (Pinus nigra Arnold subspecies pallasiana Holmboe) seed stands, seed sources were chosen from 3 different categories (seed stands (SS), seed orchards (SO) and plantations (P)) comprising 4 different breeding zones of the species in Turkey. Twenty-five trees (mother trees) were selected from each SS, SO and P seed sources and were screened with 11 Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers....
