Periodic search strategies for electronic countermeasure receivers with desired probability of intercept for each frequency band
Köksal, Emin; Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2010)
Radar systems have been very effective in gathering information in a battlefield, so that the tactical actions can be decided. On the contrary, self-protection systems have been developed to break this activity of radars, for which radar signals must be intercepted to be able to take counter measures on time. Ideally, interception should be done in a certain time with a 100% probability, but in reality this is not the case. To intercept radar signals in shortest time with the highest probability, a search s...
Periodic crack problem for an FGM coated half plane
İnce, İsmet; Kadıoğlu, Fevzi Suat; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2012)
An elastic FGM layer bonded to a semi-infinite linear elastic, isotropic, homogeneous half plane is considered. The half plane contains periodic cracks perpendicular to the interface. Mechanical loading is applied through crack surface pressure, resulting in a mode I crack problem. The plane elasticity problem described above is formulated by using Fourier transforms and Fourier series. A singular integral equation is obtained for the auxiliary variable, namely derivative of the crack surface displacement. ...
Periodic-review inventory systems with exogenous and endogenous replenishment lead times
Aşcı, Murtaza; Avşar, Zeynep Müge; Department of Industrial Engineering (2007)
In this thesis, two-echelon systems with exogenous and endogenous lead times are studied for the orders placed by the retailer(s) from the supplier. The retailer(s) employ periodic-review base-stock policy, namely (R,S) policy. For the case the demand during review period is i.i.d. and the probability distribution is Normal for each review period, a new method is proposed for exogenous lead time case under stationary policy. The results of the proposed method is then compared with the results of the existin...
Periodic motions generated from non-autonomous grazing dynamics
Akhmet, Marat (2017-08-01)
This paper examines impulsive non-autonomous systems with grazing periodic solutions. Surfaces of discontinuity and impact functions of the systems are not depending on the time variable. That is, we can say that the impact conditions are stationary, and this makes necessity to study the problem in a new way. The models play exceptionally important role in mechanics and electronics. A concise review on the sufficient conditions for the new type of linearization is presented. The existence and stability of p...
Periodic crack problem for a functionally graded half-plane an analytic solution
YILDIRIM, BORA; Kutlu, Ozge; Kadıoğlu, Fevzi Suat (Elsevier BV, 2011-10-15)
The plane elasticity problem of a functionally graded semi-infinite plane, containing periodic imbedded or edge cracks perpendicular to the free surface is considered. Cracks are subjected to mode one mechanical or thermal loadings, which are represented by crack surface tractions. Young's modulus, conduction coefficient, coefficient of thermal expansion are taken as exponentially varying functions of the depth coordinate where as Poisson ratio and thermal diffusivity are assumed to be constant. Fourier int...
